Our History

Since 1984, we have remained a pioneering institution committed to protecting eye health and preventing acquired blindness — raising public awareness, advancing early diagnosis and treatment methods, and continuing to deliver care with state-of-the-art medical technology.

Under the eye-health slogan “For a Life of Light”, we have sustained this awareness for many years. Grounded in ethical values and centred on human dignity and well-being, we provide eye-care services at the highest quality standards. Embracing the spirit of a foundation, we cultivate social sensitivity, support social-responsibility projects, and contribute meaningfully to society. We host educational and scientific initiatives and remain devoted followers of modern medical developments.

Under the umbrella of the Eye Foundation, alongside Bayrampaşa Eye Hospital, we also operate the İstanbul İdealtepe Eye Centre, established in 1997, and the Bursa Nilüfer Eye Centre, established in 2024. Across these three centres, with a total of 35 ophthalmologists and more than 200 healthcare professionals, we deliver eye-care services that meet international standards. Each year we perform an average of 125,000 examinations, 6,500 surgeries, and 29,000 diagnostic procedures and interventions.

Bayrampaşa Eye Hospital delivers eye-care services at international standards, combining a long-standing institutional culture, a mission-driven approach, advanced technological infrastructure, and a continuously evolving team of expert healthcare professionals.

Beria Turaç İdealtepe Eye Centre: opened in 1997 and joined the Eye Foundation family.

Beria Turaç İdealtepe Eye Centre continues to provide eye-care services grounded in the medical experience, expertise, and trust built over many years.

Bursa Nilüfer Eye Centre: opened to service in 2024.

With our renewed modern architecture, we combine high-quality healthcare with comfort and advanced technology. Nilüfer Eye Centre provides eye-care services at international standards across Cataract surgery and premium intraocular-lens applications, Retina, Glaucoma, Oculoplastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Paediatric Eye Health, Cornea, and Contact-Lens diagnosis and treatment.

Elected every two years from among our current 125 trustees, our Board of Directors,
Auditing Board and Advisory Board continue to serve the Foundation.
